computer hardware and software products are, a deep moral commitment is one
of the primary things that I -- or any other business customer -- look for

a vendor. If I can't get that, I won't have anything to do with them."
Now, I don't disagree with Wirt's statement but:
If ever there was a case for open systems running on commodity platforms,
Wirt has just stated it
or conversely:
If ever there was a case against proprietary systems like MPE running on a
proprietary platform, Wirt has just stated it.
