I have looked this up but what I find means very little to me:

STORE RECEIVED ERROR -44 FROM THE IO   SYSTEM (S/R 1557)

1557       MESSAGE    SPECIFICALLY, STORE RECEIVED ERROR ! FROM
                      THE IO SYSTEM (S/R 1557 )

           CAUSE      STORE experienced an unexpected I/O system
                      error.

           ACTION     The error shown here should be reported to
                      your HP Support representative.

Any information on what this error means and how to address the
problem that causes it would be appreciated.
