Russ,

With our simple schema tools (advnetsys.util) we can create
a database schema from IMAGE on the 3K, ftp it to the
Eloquence platform and use the Eloquence dbschema program
to create the Eloquence db.
Usually no changes to the schema are required.
To transfer the data, the Eloquence utilities
DBEXPORT and DBIMPORT can be employed.

For finer granular control and flexibility we or the
customer can create a very simple client application using
ADBC-IMAGE and ADBC_Eloquence.

More generally we have tools to replicate the same IMAGE
structure to virtually any database such as DB2 or Oracle
which will also load the data. Running on any platform,
including the HPe3000, it prompts for a source IMAGE
database and for a target database which, presently, is
created in advance; shortly automatic target database
creation will be supported.
XML is used to identify the target database platform and
JDBC driver.
Database pooling and native database access methods are
employed.
This Image DB migration solution is 100% pure java and is
built as an extension to the ANSI ADBC API with easy to use
classes to replicate and populate any database. The Java
classes are made available so people can write their own,
or just use our standard classes to get the job done.

Regards

Chris
