Good Morning HP3000-L,
Since upgrading my 928RX to MPE/iX 6.5 last week I have been unable to get the modem to work. I know it's not officially supported by HP, but, like many of you, we've been using a non-HP modem on LDEV 21. (In this case, a USR Courier with that special HP Modem Cable.) It worked flawlessly on MPE/iX 5.5pp7 and on OS versions before that. Now, the modem still answers but no colon prompt ever appears in my Reflection window. I made no hardware changes to either the 928 or the modem. The only change was moving from 5.5pp7 to 6.5.
LDEV 21 is shown as available and configured for a US modem, 9600 baud, "none" for parity, etc. Just like it was configured under 5.5pp7. The SYSGEN entry for LDEV 21 also appears to be correct. I made sure to do a UR (unlock remote) from the Access Port menu (Ctl-B).
Am I just missing something really obvious?
Does anybody know of changes to MPE/iX in 6.5 that affect how non-HP modems work on LDEV 21?
Thank you.
Jeff
