Hmm, you might benefit from looking at this a different way. I'm not sure why you care that the terminal type is one supported by Reflection. There are a lot of other options available. Is it because you believe this application works in block mode? A few more details would help. The AS400 5250 works in a similar fashion to HP 3000 block mode. However, there are several ways to attach terminals to it using something like Posix called PASE. Also, when web interfaces are used, there are essentially no restrictions on screen format or size. Finally, my experience handheld devices such as the one you describe is through sockets and TCP/IP. This of course bypasses the terminal emulator handling bits. Once you get more details on how the devices connect to the host, you might find that you have an entirely different set of issues than those presented by using Reflection.

Subject: RF Guns connection to the HP3000

Looking to replicate and application from an RF Gun to an AS400. This is an Inventory control application and updating locations on the Host AS400. It looks like a basic menu running in a form of reflections. I don't know much about the RF equipment (MC9090 and MC9190 Os is windows CE 5 and or 6). I've been given a couple of screen shots and they've asked can I do the same interface to the HP3000.

When looking at the Reflections configurations it doesn't look to support a screen size smaller than 24x80. Could just be related to the terminal type 2392/70092. I don't know.

Anyone have any experiences with connecting RF guns/tablet type devices to the HP?

Should be getting more details from the AS400 IT group soon. Just wanted to get a head start on research.

Thanks
Randy
