I should had better explained my reasons for suggesting data base security
could be a factor here.

I was speculating that perhaps the sporadic nature of the problem could in
some way be associated with the event of modifying a dataset capacity in
such a way that the data set security reverts back to a default which
results in a data access error.

I would still suggest releasing the data base security after finding out
what the exact name of the data base root file is.

Incidentally, if Deanna had the MPEX product, she could release
security  by simply logging on as manager.sys and,

:mpex
%release [log in to unmask]
%exit

Would still need exclusive access to the data base.
