Joseph,

Like Bill Lancaster indicated, by using third party memory you can take a 987 SX
up to 1.5GB.  This is a much
more cost effective solution than a CPU upgrade.  I have done it at two
locations with resounding success.

The 987 SX only has 768 mb of memory. This doesn't leave much room for
memory enhancement. When I was in a similar situation I upgraded to a 959,
which has 2 GB of memory with add on capability for 2 GB more. It's an
expensive alternative but it depends on what you need.
