I agree that the included portions need to be edited down.
Also, unless it is really helpful to have these placed in the context of
the reply, it is better if they follow the reply, so that if we have
already read the preceding threads
we can ignore them.
 
Another thing we might consider is shortening the signatures and the
disclaimer notices that often follow.
Frequently, these exceed the actual message in length!
