I really don't believe that is has a thing to do with the size of the molecule, but more the fact that oxygen is highly reactive and will react with the tire material, depleting the inflation gas of up to 20% of its volume and pressure.  Just my thoughts.

That is a new one on me?  I thought the Nitrogen Molecule was
smaller and lighter (a little bit) than Oxygen.  Turns out it is lighter,
but bigger.
