Hi Tom:

I'll have to agree w/ Peter Chong on his earlier post. I have recently
worked with MiniSoft's (http://www.minisoft.com) ODBC/32 bit driver for use
with MS Access, and have found it to be an excellent development platform
for use with the HP3K.

Working in public education, we had a need for such a tool for report
writing purposes, and I was able to set it up and demonstrate its use to our
personnel department who rely on MS Access as the front end to be able to
access our databases.

MiniSoft's product also has the capability to work hand-in-hand with
Vesoft's SECURITY/3000 product, so security is easily set up and managed as
well.

HTH!

Subject: Visual Speedware - worth a look?

A few days ago, I posted a question concerning Cognos' Axiant product.
Due to the underwhelming responses, I must assume there is a very small
user community. So, how about Speedware?

My client is looking for a development platform with 4-GL type
development tools, but with a modern GUI user presentation.

Have any successs stories (or horror stories) on converting a large
manufacting environment to Speedware?

Are there other possible solutions?

Thanks all,

-Tom Frazier-
