Mark,

I also have a lot of problems using Javascript in IE4 and IE5, and also
with frames (target="_blank" will not work at all in IE) ... In Netscape
everything works fine but not in IE.

Finally I gave it up and put a remark on the first page "best seen with
Netscape".
(You may give me a hit at http://www.hillschmidt.de)

On the other hand, we're not alone: check http://www.toshiba.de, navigation
in Netscape and IE ... the navigator window pops up fine in Netscape but IE
returns with a Javascript error ..

It's not a solution but just another hint that IE is not the best ...

Best regards, Andreas

Subject: OT : Javascript Help

Are there any Javascript gurus lurking out there?
I've got an html form with three frames on it - top, left and right. In a
JS
function in the right frame, I want to access the selected value of a
drop-down
box in the left frame but hit a security violation ("Permission denied").
I'm
using IE4.
Logically, this seems quite a reasonable security check but does anyone
have any
ideas on how to circumvent it?
TIA.
Mark W.
