We have come to an end of an era here at Rockwell in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Back in 1987, we were looking for an upgrade to our existing 70 to run a
newer version of ManMan and the risc based architecture from HP was just
coming out. We made the decision to move to the new hardware at that
point, even though it was 'not necessarily ready-for-prime-time'. The
original purchase was for a 930 but HP couldn't quite get it to perform as
needed so they upgraded us to a 950. We purchased the first model 950 that
was moved into production, serial number 2737A00100. It has been upgraded
periodically as needed to finally a 980/300 three years ago. When first
purchased, HP spent considerable time onsite doing debugging and changing
code on the fly. Everyone working on the box from the IT group had to sign
a non-disclosure clause, hence the box was named 'HUSH'. We have recently
moved towards sap and with those models going off support, we have moved
all still existing apps off that box and will be decommissioning it in the
very near future.

A piece of history being powered off!
