We are currently using a document management system from Hummingbird
Software called "PCDOCS" The beauty of this system is that they have an API
that you can write your own custom interfaces to if you wish. It runs on an
SQL server.

Along this line, I've been hearing radio ads about a product that captures
and files, automatically, all documents in the office including word
processing, fax,...

I think it's intended for a small office.

Does anyone know the product name/mfgr?

Subject: [HP3000-L] Filing documents on servers

Hello.

I was wondering if someone can help me. I work for a small company and
we (8 people) file and use documents on our server. What we use is the
typical directory structure. I believe this is begining to give us
problems.

We need do have quite a number of levels in our directory system and
very long file names. Recently for some files we have not been able to
use the same number of characters in the file name and in some cases
we have not been able to add further directories.

Does anybody know if this is dependent on the number of existing
levels and length of file name?

Is anyone aware of a way of filing/storing documents in an alternative
way? We have looked at document management systems, but they do not
meet our needs.

Thank you very much.
