Fair warning! This e-mail is right off the top of my head.

What would make me stay!? A chance to play (i.e. experiment with new
products and methods). Respected for what I know and that a mistake is
showing that new areas of knowledge are being explored. Work in a team
were information is to be shared, hoarding of information is seen as
detrimental to the business. A good training program. For me the money
and benefits are to keep my family off my back.:) I usually find out
exactly what my salary and benefits are after I have accepted a
position. Like Art I have spent some time working for non-profit
organizations, a total of the last 6.5 years. It always seems to be the
politics the gets me to move on.

Rich

These opinions are strictly by own. Would anybody else even want them?

Speaking of black holes,

My shop is trying very hard to attract and RETAIN good quality people. I
have been asked to 'sit' on a comittee that is supposed to find new and
creative suggestions for retaining techies.

I have lots of ideas myself, but I thought many of you might give me
some of your ideas on what would make you want to stay at a company.
Salary is the easy one, but not always the most important.

Private e-mails are fine.

Thanks
