Amazing. My Magitronic monitor is able to tolerate 2-3 milligaus before
showing any distortion at all. The earth's magnetic field is apparently
under 1 mg, because my gaussmeter won't measure it at all.
My experience is that a printing calculator (with transformer in the calc,
not a power cube) would cause _much_ more problem. Or an electrical
conduit. We picked up readings above 20 milligaus from conduit an
improperly-wired conduit carrying 3-phase wye. It was a joke until the
Workmans' Comp bills hit my boss's desk. It seems she was suffering all
sorts of symptoms due to the jumpy raster.
