Ties right in with what I mentioned a few days ago about having a common set
of UDC files that can work on multiple machines.  Nonexistent devices or
device class names are the #1 problem that I have found in trying to do this.  I
try to always use class names to avoid the nonexistent device # error.  Adding
IF... THEN... ELSE... logic to test for things is the next step that I need to
take (when i have some very rare spare time!).
