Not true.  I've used it a bunch.

I wish STM would go away, but that's a different subject.

I heard a rumor that NMMGR will no longer exist
on 7.0, (much like sysdiag no longer exists on
6.5 and still haven't got the hang of cstm.)

Is the rumor true?
