Yes, it is. Especially if used with Samba/iX as PFE can save files in DOS
or Unix format (ie with CR LF or only LF as line delimiters). The latter
is very helpful if you want the text files to be processed by a 3000 based
program like COBOL or C compiler (which do not like trailing CR chars)...

BUT... With PFE and Samba you'll have to have bytestream files on the 3000
side (which should typically not be a problem). The PC will not be able to
handle MPE-ish text files like Fixed ASCII or NUMbered text files. This is
where the "more MPE aware" products like WhisperEdit, Qedit for Windows,
Facade, etc etc are typically much more useful.
