I will be doing an install over this weekend and I would like to optimize the performance of my system.
Question 1:
Should I move my SCSI F&W cards to the high end slots.(PATH 48, 40). Will that increase the priority of my disks and in doing so improve the overall performance of the system?
Question 2:
I' thinking of removing all S.E. drives on the system and load ldev 1 on a fast and scsi card by specifying the install address. Any inconvenience?
Question 3:
When I do an install, will I retain all of the NMMGR configuration i.e. Telnet configuration and DTC ports configuration?
Question 4:
If I have only 50 Mbytes of transient space used on the system, can I get away with only one system drive, LDEV 1 without suffering any performance impact?
Question 5:
I gather ldev 1 is created automatically without volutil when you do an install. How do I get to specify that I want the operating system to be loaded on path 48.0.0 (my Fast & Wide scsi card, first disk address) for example?
Question 6:
Is there any drawbacks to what I am doing or things I should be aware of?
Thank You
