I don't really have any help; just some additional *very* anecdotal
data. We have a bunch of networked printers of various types strewn
about the state. While I have not been directly involved, I understand
from those that have that only two of those printers demonstrate this
"pausing" phenomena (which only occurs sporadically) and both printers
are HP5SI's. One of those printers is on-site and gets alot of use: two
folks in the office both "discovered" separately that if they left the
third tray open, those pauses either did not occur or occurred less
frequently or for shorter times - in any event, causing less of a
slowdown. I have no idea what this means, if it is true.
