Ahem,

Hi everybody - I just thought I'd pop in (it's been a while) and lo and
behold - I find an interminable thread with my name all over it. Since
several people have asked, let me clarify what's happening with regards
to the articles that I have been writing for Interex.

I am currently in negotiations with Prentice-Hall to collect the articles
together and publish them as a book. If this happens, (and it seems
very likely at this writing), the book will contain a good deal of
additional material above and beyond that which I published with Interex.
I'm hoping that this will make it an even more valuable resource for the
HP 3000 community.

Unfortunately, it also means that I have had to insist that Interex
refrain from giving the articles away on their (or anybody else's) website,
since that would pretty well destroy any market that might exist for the
book. (I mean - would *you* go out and buy Steven King's latest slashfest
if you could download it for free?)

Unfortunately, it also means that the book *won't* be ready in time for
HPWorld in San Francisco. (We might be taking orders, but we won't be
fulfilling them there.) But, that having been said, I'm doing everything
in my power to make it a good resource for those "newbies" who need an
introduction what remains HP's best kept secret....

And by the way, in case anybody didn't know, I left the HP 3000 division
of HP last June - and have been working in the NetServer division. So
I don't get into this newsgroup very often any longer. Email followups
