There are possibilities, other than the obvious "topic" idea which has
not met with wide acceptance other than the infamous "OT:" one.

Another possibility is that, perhaps, OpenMPE and possibly 9000-L
could be sub-lists of HP3000-L (or similar configuration).  You can
have sub-lists and super-lists, and Listserv is supposed to (I haven't
done this before) eliminate duplication.  If you are subscribed to a
list, you get only postings to that list or it's superlist.  Likewise,
if you're on the superlist, you get postings from each sibling sublist.

As for newsgroup and Google archiving purposes, only HP3000-L has that
mechanism at present with the established comp.sys.hp.mpe newsgroup and
the gateway mechanism from Editcorp.

But we could re-organize in some fashion if you see fit from the
listserv side; can't speak to what would happen on the newsgroup side.
