     DEVCTRL  LDev COMPRESSION=Compress EJECT=Eject LOAD=Load
 
       Where
 
         LDev      - Logical Device Number (required)
         Compress  - [Enable | Disable | Nochange]
         Eject     - [Enable | Disable |Nochange]
         Looad     - [Online | Offline |Nochange]
 
Yes,  can use devctrl to cause the tape to be ejected at the end of the next operation (Vstore, Store,Restore, etc.)  devctrl.mpexl.telesup is the command file that runs DEVTOOL.PUB.SYS...

 

 

I usually just use the parameters positionally.

 

To enable compression, eject and place the tape online:

 

devctrl.mpexl.telesup 7,Enable,Enable,Online
