GNU gcc debugging on MPE

Hello,
 
I have not yet been able to find the right options in order to debug a C
program that has been compiled with gcc on MPE.  If I compile with c89
using the -g switch, xdb works fine.  If I use gcc, xdb has some
symbolic information like the names of functions, but it does not seem
to know in which file my source code lies and I am limited to assembly
language debugging.
 
Any ideas ?
