Not when I had my problems, I decided to stick with something that was
familiar, and easier to configure.

I think you have the 'Boot Floppy' option and 'Bootable System Disk'
confused. While I agree that you should avoid using a boot floppy booting
the system, you want to create a bootable system disk. This is a distinctly
different step from the lilo/grub configuration option. Unfortunately, I
can't remember exactly which step it is, but when you go through the
installation process, there is a screen where you have to specifically
decline the creation of a bootable disk. That is when you WANT to create a
disk.
Regardless, I think it was Gavin had a good question that I neglected to
ask. When does this error occur? Are you in the midst of installing, or
have you installed, and it is now attempting to start the system?
