I originally sent this on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, but received a
failed delivery message. The apparent cause being the absence of the
following header: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1".
Apparently plain text messages to the list now are required to have a
mime type assigned.
The attachment, if it gets through, contains nothing of importance but
its presence does trigger the creation of the necessary Content-Type
header.
Original message:
I seem to recall that at some point in the not too distant past
somebody sent me a Powerhouse code snippet to filter unwanted
characters out of a text string. I seem to recall even using it. But
for the life of me I cannot remember where I used it or who sent it to
me or where the message has been filed.
I searched the HP3000-l archives but for some reason the most recent
message returned to me respecting QTP or Powerhouse, or much of
anything actually, was c. A.D.2000.
If someone recalls the message or the code snippet and can point me to
the place that I can retrieve it, or mercifully posts the code again
to the list, then I would be very appreciative.
And if this turns out to be entirely the product of a vivid
imagination and has no basis in reality then this message was never sent.
