Well, I agree, my eyes and brain also stumble over the new use of lowercase,
but nobody asked me for my opinion when the new standard was developed.  ;-)

There will be additional corporate web standard changes in the future.  I
now see that http://www.hp.com has rolled to the new format.  There's a link
to an article that talks about the new format, and you can submit some
feedback to make your feelings known.
