Oh, OK.  I was under the impression that the rumor was the HP was going to
do that (MPE on the 9000).

The point?  The software.

Yes.  That's one possible outcome of some form of open sourcing of MPE.
At present, we're waiting for HP to decide what the future of MPE is.
