I have often wondered why HP did not try and go the other way, add an
MPE personality to HPUX as opposed to adding Posix to MPE, and
effectively move their entire MPE user base to HPUX via OS upgrades +
the MPE-->HPUX conversion kits as opposed to doing their best to push
everyone off a cliff?

In the long run, would it not have been easier and avoided all the ill
will?

Oh well, our IBM server farm is performing exceptionally well and almost
all traces of HP technology has been pushed out the door, even printers,
with the last 3000 to follow in less than a year. And as much as I would
have loved an emulated environment, to maintain an archive version of
our MPE system, HP seems far to dysfunctional these days to be capable
of making a final decision to release a license.

Comments are my own, not my employer's... etc.
