At the risk of starting another "interesting" thread, here's a
public service announcement...

Just a reminder to all of you voting Interex members out there -
Now's the time! Your ballots must be in by October 31, so you have
less than two weeks to mark your vote and get it in the mail.

If you have not yet received your ballot, contact the Interex office
immediately - Mine came a couple of weeks ago.

The Candidates' Forum - held during HP World '97 - was a time for
the candidates for the Interex Board to field questions from the
members. I was there and asked each candidate to give a one word
answer the following three questions:

What is your major strength for serving on the Interex Board?
What is your major liability for serving on the Interex Board?
If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

I asked these questions to gain a better understanding of "who they
are." I hope their answers (which follow in the order they
responded) are helpful to you as you make your decision. I've
decided not to explain their responses - You'll have to contact the
candidates if you want to know more.

Charles (Chad) Gilles
Strength: Peer
Liability: Peer
Animal: Rhinoceros

Bill Hassell
Strength: Honesty, expression, advocate
Liability: Not totally politically correct
Animal: "Party"

James C. Rice
Strength: Commitment
Liability: Can't say "no"
Animal: Jaguar

Linda S. Roatch
Strength: Trustworthy, organized
Liability: Oldest child
Animal: Hawk

Mark D. DiPasquale
Strength: Strategic, reactive
Liability: Busy
Animal: Lion or eagle

I also encourage you to visit the Interex web site and read the
questions that have been submited by members and answered by the
candidates. Feel free to submit your own question, but do it now!

See you at the polls!
