Winston,

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to the anxiety and
concern that is so evident in the HP3000 community concerning the lack
of public support by HP of the HP3000. The obvious enthusiasm and energy
apparent in the HP3000 users' willingness to offer significant sums of
money to take out an advertisement in the Wall Street Journal to
highlight HP's perceived neglect of the HP3000 platform must surely
cause HP's management to take notice. I appreciate that you are aware of
the concerns and you are in a position to pass those concerns on to the
people you work with and for. You accept that there has been
miscommunication about the HP3000 platform and you say "Yes, MPE has
been inappropriately missing from HP communications and we are working
hard to fix it." However, phrases like "in the coming months" tend to
offer little in the way of immediate resolution to the problem and I
wondered if you could be more specific as to what you mean by "working
hard to fix it" ? Can we expect some hard hitting ads in global
magazines? Perhaps we can expect the HP3000 to be included in high-level
press releases? What precisely can be done to reverse the apparent
neglect of the HP3000 platform by HP?

Thank you for your time,

John Dunlop
