Robelle Consulting, Vancouver, has an execllent product Suprtool which
does probably what you want, at extremly high speed:
- select, copy, extract large amounts of data from/to Image sets,
  KSAM and flat files
- is also available on HP-UX for flatfiles and Oracle databases
