All of the catalogued (and uncatalogued) UDCS have the following setup :-

SECURITY -- READ :ANY
            WRITE :ANY
            APPEND :ANY
            LOCK :ANY
            EXECUTE :ANY
          **SECURITY IS ON

I uncataloged system UDC UDCFILE1.GEN.SYS and then recatalogued it but
no-one could open or access it because it was secured. I set the security
to OFF, and all is OK.
How did users access it before when it was secured?
How do users access the other secured UDCs?
We do have VESOFT SECURITY/3000. Is there something I have to do under
VESOFT to secure this UDC?
Thanks in advance
rehards ... Terry
