I have another question to ask. One, and only one, of the
PC's on our LAN does not seem to want to talk with our
HP3000 918LX. The miscreant in question just happens to be
our primary domain server running NT Enterprise Server
V4.0SP6a with hotfixes up to date as of Friday, April 7, 2000.

The symptom is that the initial logon does not seem to want
to complete. Sometimes the user can get all the password
prompts and responses completed, and sometimes they
can't. No matter, at some point early in the login process the
communications hang and the TE program is left in a non-
responsive state.

Now the interesting thing is that this only happens with VT
communications to the HP3000. No other TCP/IP
communication seems to be affected. For example smtp and
http service outbound and inbound is not affected, telnet to
HP9000 servers, both local and remote is not affected either.

Further, the problem is not specific to a particular TE, as the
same situation arises with both Minisoft's Win92 and WRQ's
Reflection products. Removal and re-installation of clean
copies of the software doesn't remove the problem either.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Jim
