I have to respectfully disagree. Many times a prospective client is not
knowledgeable enough to make a decision on a software product purchase, or
whomever is acting as their representative. Accountants/Sales people
choosing a manufacturing system for instance.
I believe the burden should be on the purchaser to do their homework. In
big purchase many vendors will/should work with the prospects to study/try
an implementation. With credit of all or some of this effort back upon
purchase.
Determining something is an error is sometimes a perspective, not an
absolute.
