I think Cortlandt's message had some great points, especially the last
one. And Glenn's message was right on, also. I think that applications
is the key as evidenced by the AS/400 market. A thought I had was that
there are several schools, colleges, government entities, and several
businesses who are leaving the HP 3000 market for a variety of reasons.
The HP 3000 applications they are running might be acquired for a very
reasonable (or no) price by a developer. These systems could be upgraded
with new features and front ends to provide a quicker startup for the
developer and a salable solution for the HPe3000 market. What do you
think? Does anyone know of some opportunities like this?
