First, ensure that a user.map file exists, which maps USER.ACCOUT to a
Windows Network username.

Secondly, if prompted for a password, enter it in the format:

   USERPASS,ACCTPASS

This is the method used by FTP/iX and is also used for Samba/iX. If only an
account password exists, then enter the COMMA, then the Account password.
If only a User password exists, enter the User password, then a comma.

If no password exists, but it still prompts (smb.conf can be set up this
way), just enter the comma.

Summary:

  Both User/Acct password: USERPASS,ACCTPASS
  Just an Acct password: ,ACCTPASS
  Just a User password: USERPASS,
  No Password (if prompted) ,

Hope this helps some. For more pointers, point your browser to

more on this site in the near future :)

Joe
