Hi all,

I've gotten a few replies from my post, and all were from
vendors (big surprise, there!). I realized that my question was not as
specific as it could have been, as it did not state that when I referred
to outsourcing the 3k stuff, I meant specifically the applications code
end of the house...not the hardware support. :-D

Again, TIA for your help (and, again, no sales calls please).

Ray Shahan

Subject: Outsourcing your 3k legacy system

Hi all,

I've been asked the question: has anyone out there tried to
outsource their hp3k system as part of their migration plan.

If you considered outsourcing but did not do it, why didn't you do it?

If you did try outsourcing, was it cost effective, did the outsourcing
vendor know what they were doing, did you have contractors come (and
stay) on-site from the vendor or did you do a telecommute setup or
combination of the two, did you offshore?

Any other thoughts you may have on this subject (whether questions or
answers) would be great - and, of course, you can reply privately, too.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR SEVICES (or stated another way, no sales
folks please), rather, a request for information from members of the
list.

TIA for any help.
