Located just an hour north of San Francisco, Sonoma County is home to
redwood forests, 76 miles of handsome Pacific Coast, and more award-winning
wineries than any other viticulture region in the United States.  More than
31,000 acres of wine grapes are planted in Sonoma County and there are
approximately 145 different wineries.  Come experience Sonoma County.

The Santa Rosa City School District is composed of 23 schools with
approximately 17,000 students and 1700 employees.  The mission of the
District, in partnership with parents, educators, staff, and the community,
is to provide active, involved learning for all students so they will
achieve personal, academic and occupational success.

Candidates should have 3+ years of progressive COBOL programming experience
in a mainframe environment. This position works closely with
Education/Business Services and Standards, Research, Assessment and
Evaluation.  Full time permanent position.

Design, code, test, document and implement applications in an interactive
and batch environment. Possess effective interpersonal, oral and written
communications skills with both technical personnel and end users. Recognize
and resolve program design, development and production level problems;
perform quality assurance reviews. Prepare and maintain JCL. Communicate and
resolve issues with technical and non-technical personnel regarding program
objective and technical issues, including advising management of evaluation
and selection of alternatives.

Preferred Skills: HP3000, IMAGE, Student/3000, Visual Basic, MS Access, SQL
Server

Additional Information Salary: $42,132 - $53,736 (Step 1 - 6) per year plus
a comprehensive benefits package to include: participation in CalPERS,
Medical Health/Dental/Vision/Life/Disability Insurance.
