Been there. Summer is not a fun time in Dallas.  You need to carry a towel
with you, the humidity is a killer.  Dallas would be nice in the fall!

We have never had a conference in Dallas. I had asked Interex about that
many times and never got a good reason why not. It's centrally located, good
restaurants, large conference sites (with a new large Opryland complex to be
finished next year), easy access by airlines from anywhere, plenty of
reasonable hotel space, and a fair sized installed base.
