Of course, because we do not fear comparison, we can acknowledge the
good things about the other solutions.

This serves two purposes:

1) It shows that we really are seeking the best solution, and not just
   trying to shore up support (artificially!) for our platform of choice,
and
2) It drops a not-so-subtle hint for things to consider for adoption
   within Image.

For example, both Fred White and Denys have written extensively on what
is needed to improve Image/SQL.

Also, Richard Gambrell wrote:

HP showed this with OpenODB, but I believe this was implemented on top
of Allbase.  Gary Biggs (or any number of others) can correct me on this,
but near as I can tell, Allbase just can't compare (at least in terms of
ease of use) with Informix.

But I'm getting way off track here.  The point is that it can only do
us good to acknowledge what (little ;) we like about other platforms,
and at least consider those ideas for Image.
