I just received my December 4, 2000 (Vol 13 number 19) edition of Channel
Business. I found the editorial by Alison Eastwood interesting. I thought the
list might like to read it and it reads as follows ( I would have included an
URL to the publication but it has not been posted as of today):

Of Comdex, Carly and ...

Nov 13, 2000
Dear Comdex Diary:

...
Do CEOs get a recount? That's what HP chief Carly Fiorina asked during her
Comdex keynote this morning - a joke at th expense of her firm's disappointing
year-end financials. Personally, I wouldn't have invited Ms. Fiorina to reprise
her keynote from last year, when she was in feisty top form and a novelty act to
boot. This year it seems she decided to pretend she'd actually attended other
Comdexes in her pre-HP existence. "At past Comdexes, it was all killer apps,"
she said wisely. "Then it was about browsers and portals. Now it's about
mobile and wireless." Well, any Comdex Vegas veteran knows that "killer apps"
were the least of what this show was ever about. As for browsers and portals,
oh yeah, we all remember the year Comdex only has two exhibitors: Microsoft and
Netscape. Geez, Reggie Jackson knows more about Comdex than Carly.
...
