I could probably write a long essay on the subject but, to me MPE means:

1. Programs that I wrote in 1974 still work on the latest processor model
without any changes.

2. With a single backup set (SLT w/directory, &@[log in to unmask]@), in many cases a
single tape, I can rebuild
     the system on a different box and not worry (too much) about hardware
compatibility.

3. System and Database administration is for most installations a part time
job.

4. MPE & TurboImage are tightly coupled so that reliability and performance
are optimally balanced.

These are my suggestions toward the  top 10 reasons to love MPE  section of
the HP3000 FAQ. I ll
leave refinement and the rest up to the list. Perhaps a vote could be taken
at HPWORLD.

MPE FOREVER, NT & UNIX NEVER!!!!!!!
