Hello fellow listers !

I am planning a vacation in the USA this summer with wife and kids. I would
like to know your recommendations on the following points :

- Airlines : Any of you know websites that sell discounted air tickets,
transatlantic and domestic ? Any suggestions ?
- Car rental : Any companies that rent cars at bargain prices ?
- Hotels/Motels : Your suggestions. I was thinking of Travelodge, Howard
Johnson's, Motel 6, Day's Inn, Best Western, Holiday Inns...
- Places to see : Anything you might think of that's not already in the
tourist guides.
- Anything else you might think of ?

And yes, money matters, to some extent.

We've already been in the States before. We plan to be there for 3 weeks.
Our target period is July-August. We will probably do a coast-to-coast
journey, if that makes sense. Since we have two young kids, ages 8 and 4,
we plan to visit parks more than museums. Well, you get the idea of what
two young kids could be interested in.
