I had hoped that someone from HP would shed some light on plans to bring
more of the OpenView family to MPE. Another admin started making noise about
us actually using SCOPE and company here; he has prior experience to bring
to the table. And I agree that it merits * some * examination for what we do
here. Since we finished not only our Y2K projects but another project to
bring all production systems and software to vendor-supported, Y2K compliant
versions (which I must say was a real creme puff project for the 3000, while
a Herculean task for a certain other unnamed platform), there has been some
noise about better performance monitoring AND Enterprise Management
software. One size fits no one in particular here. Of course, I recommended
HP solutions for the HP platforms, which also raised exactly this question.
What suite of products is available for MPE and HP-UX? And, what else can
this family of products do, besides monitor these two platforms? I'm still
waiting for those product CDs I requested from the web site...
