At an association meeting this morning, a Compaq VP included the following
slide in his Power Point presentation. Anybody have thoughts as to its
contents?

Vaske Computer Solutions

Power Point Slide number 9:

Obviously there are things we can say and things we cannot given where
things are at.

It has been frustrating to see people focus on “PCs” in the press and
analyst circles.

This is clearly about enterprise products, enterprise services, and
technology options.

A few data points of relevance for the new HP:

We would be the number 1 PC vendor (to close out this discussion)
We would be the number 1 storage vendor
We would be the number 1 vendor of UNIX/LINUX systems
We would be the number 1 partner / integrator of Microsoft technology
We would be the number 1 platform for the worlds financial services markets.
We would be a $20B services organization (number 3 globally)
And more…

What does this mean?

A full range of products for all of a customers IT requirements
The services to address the most daunting business problems
An alternative to IBM and EDS as a global integrator and service provider
Its clearly NOT about PC’s, although they play a role in the future too.
