As far as the printing goes, your best bet is to use the Internet like
Wirt said, but you will probably need to do the following.

1) buy a parallel interface for your 2562 - or - buy a parallel to
   serial converter.

2) buy an external print server such as an HP Jet EX (or whatever they are
   called these days).

3) Get a static IP address on the internet from your ISP in Hawaii.  Assign
   it to the print server.

4) Get your HP3000 connected to the Internet.

5) Configure network printing and print away....

Note: If you have a firewall in front of your HP3000 and the Internet, you
      will have to allow the TCP port for the printing.
