Thank you all for the various responses about SQLAPIW.DLL.

Things I discovered:

   1) HPPCAPI.PUB.SYS (dated 10/24/94) has only three files with
      "SQL" in their names (apparently):

        SQLAPIW.LI_
        SQLAPIY.DL_
        SQLAWIN.DL_

I.e.: close, but no "SQLAPIW.DLL" (I'm assuming the usual
Microsoft name completion is done after decompression),
but there is a similarly named file with a "LIB" suffix.

So...maybe my user was confused, and said "DLL" instead of "LIB",
or SQLAPIW instead of SQLAPIY or SQLAWIN, or
maybe they had a different version, which *does* have SQLAPIW.DLL.

   2) Compuserve's MPE forum (HP/Systems/MPE) has about 3 or 4
interestingly named files ... but none appear to have SQLAPIW.DLL.
(I downloaded the files (about 2 MB), and unpacked them...no
SQLAPIW.DLL or anything similar to HPPCAPI.PUB.SYS.

So, I've sent a msg to my user, asking them to unpack their copy of
HPPCAPI.PUB.SYS and see if that holds the answer for them.

And, I've asked if they can use the HP ODBC interface.

thanks,

Stan

: SQLAPIW.DLL is the Gupta C API library that is shipped with HP's
: Gupta interface. You may need the developer's toolkit from
: Powerbuilder which contains Powersoft's allbase provider tools.

: Also, you might consider using HP's ODBC interface which does not
: required Powersoft's toolkit.
