If I extrapolate the performance matrix that I made available at the OpenMPE
website, an hypothetical N4000-800-550 would have about 106 performance
units. As most SMP systems do a terrible job of scaling upwards, a
correction factor has to be applied for each extra CPU. It's not just a
question of adding raw power.

Of course, that's all theory. It has to be measured against reality, i.e.
your favourite benchmarks. In other words, YMMV.

The box is an HP9000 that HP converted to HP3000 for our disaster recovery
testing.
