Well,
MEOW:  looks really good again!
One day and an INSTALL later, our trusty 937 is back in operation.

We ended up replacing LDEV1, doing an INSTALL from our most recent SLT,
then a complete restore of all files.  Our most current backup was Tuesday
evening, so we will have to re-input everything from 7am Wednesday until
3pm that day, but it could be (much) worse.

Many thanks to Kirk from ATS (<plug> our Hardware support provider - first
call - excellent response!!), Gavin from Allegro & Steve and Mike from
Beechglen, and others on the List who responded with help and suggestions.

All's well that ends well...
